Whakatāne Airport is one of Roger Walker's most iconic architectural designs, so much so that in 2019 it was listed as a Category 1 historic place by Heritage New Zealand.
47 years after he originally designed it, Roger painted his take on it - that's Moutohora, Whale Island underneath which inspired the original design.
